Founder & Designer
Kristjana Ýr Herbertsdóttir
I'm the founder and lead designer of KÝR Studio, an interior design practice rooted in inclusivity, storytelling, and thoughtful collaboration. I hold a First Class BA (Hons) in Interior Design from the prestigious KLC School of Design in London, where I was also awarded the Commercial Interiors Award by the Society of British and International Interior Design (SBID) for my work.
With experience spanning retail, hospitality, and workplace environments, as well as residential and bespoke furniture projects, my approach blends creativity with functionality and meaning. I design with people at the center, drawing from a deep interest in human behavior, accessibility, and emotional connection to space.
My background includes hands-on design, consulting, and visual merchandising, as well as accessibility-focused care work, all of which inform a practice grounded in empathy and purpose. At KÝR Studio, I aim to design interiors that are as inclusive and practical as they are expressive, always shaped by collaboration and the unique story of each client.
